However streaming videos take an enormous time to load in my net, so I don't know if I'll be able to go ahead with it. But thanks nonetheless.Shubhajithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02040495040897333606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2017832040275963428.post-46965857730669765012009-10-21T20:37:59.134+05:302009-10-21T20:37:59.134+05:30Strangely I found a sub-titled version of Elippath...Strangely I found a sub-titled version of Elippathayam at YouTube. Enjoy but please be aware that when I was growing up, the urban myth was that this movie was supposed to cause death by boredom :-)Rama Ramahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17188744082063158213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2017832040275963428.post-8054681748013391532009-10-20T22:29:49.050+05:302009-10-20T22:29:49.050+05:30I think Utsab (The Festival) is available in Netfl...I think Utsab (The Festival) is available in Netflix. Yeah you're right, subtitled regional movies aren't easily available in India. I've heard a lot about Adoor Gopalakrishnan, given that he is a renowned filmmaker, but haven't managed to get hold of his movies yet.Shubhajithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02040495040897333606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2017832040275963428.post-50426764509366869822009-10-20T00:17:54.857+05:302009-10-20T00:17:54.857+05:30Thanks for the recommendations. I will have to hunt around for them on my next trip to India.

BTW, I think you should explore the Malayalam "art" film industry. Look out for films from Adoor, Aravindan, ,Shyamprasad... but then again their films are hard to find with subtitles even in India.Rama Ramahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17188744082063158213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2017832040275963428.post-10240984413174020872009-10-19T21:00:00.158+05:302009-10-19T21:00:00.158+05:30Thanks for stopping by my blog. Look out for his Utsab, Dahan & Shubho Mahurat - these 3 happen to be my favourites from his oeuvre.Shubhajithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02040495040897333606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2017832040275963428.post-74418539401556558932009-10-18T23:57:03.231+05:302009-10-18T23:57:03.231+05:30Came by your blog through your comments at 1minute...Came by your blog through your comments at 1minutefilmreview. The theatre where we saw the movie was unexpectedly bad, and tried all its best to prevent us from liking the movie. Despite that I was able to appreciate the depth and beauty of the movie. However, to fully appreciate every single nuance in the script, I need a second viewing at some other place. So, depending on if and when I watch it again, the rating might very well change for the better.Shubhajithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02040495040897333606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2017832040275963428.post-12937490201966882502009-09-04T16:04:37.319+05:302009-09-04T16:04:37.319+05:30nah ...nope ... not good enough ... 4stars.. i mea...nah ...nope ... not good enough ... 4stars.. i mean come on subho! this is my favourite bangla contemporary film..hands down! and i'm sure in the years to come ... only ritu da will be able to emulate something of this stature.
mere mortal like me self can't even begin to comment on the brilliance of this film ...
Ritu Da, you're my idol!Adrenaline and all that Jazzzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15724146232711592068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2017832040275963428.post-59433562866090359222009-09-04T16:03:33.087+05:302009-09-04T16:03:33.087+05:30This comment has been removed by the author.Adrenaline and all that Jazzzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15724146232711592068noreply@blogger.com
